Sound Generator

The Sampler is an object that plays back different types of sample based instruments. A note is triggered as soon as the object is put on the table. Rotating the object also triggers a note. The Sampler is either used together with a sequencer, played via MIDI input or standalone with the Tonalizer object. The Sampler object supports the Soundfont (SF2) format.

When rotating the object a note is triggered. The outer half circle on the left side shows which half-note is played back. The inner circle shows the octave the oscillator is currently in.

The maximum amplitude of the loop can be changed by moving the dot on the right side of the object. The position of the dot can be locked and unlocked by dragging it away from the object until it turns red.

Instrument Mode

In instrument mode, the notes played depend on the base note of the Sampler (which is controlled through rotation) and the note from the sequencer. Therefore it is possible to pitch shift a sequence by rotating the sampler object.

Drum Mode

In drum mode the notes which are triggered by the sequencer are always in the same octave.
